I have had an enquiry from Janet Welch asking :-
I now have another project. I have been urged by the UK’s National Archive’s military expert to undertake some research on Field bakeries. With the support of the Royal Logistics I am doing this.
I noticed under Harry Parker’s photographs there was one of a Flour Mill. I had picked up reading Allenby’s account of the war this was something that was done. Is there any chance that any of your contacts may have any further information on any of the mills, any information on the supply of bread, or any comments on bread rations. I have picked up a few comments on swapping cigarettes for chappattis in one of the diaries you have on line.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
